Johann Daniel Korffmann, born on March 25, 1681, in Stein-Bockenheim, was the son of Johann Philipp and Anna Ottilia Lufft Korffmann. At the age of 14, he was confirmed in the Evangelical Church in 1695. Johann Daniel passed away at the age of 50 in January 1732 and was laid to rest in Stein-Bockenheim.
During his life, Johann Daniel served as the Schultheiss (mayor) of Stein-Bockenheim from 1727 to 1732 under the Wild- und Rheingraft. He also held the position of elder in the Evangelical Church. The family home, was a significant part of his legacy. Constructed with a courtyard, stable, and a smaller structure believed to have served as servant quarters, the house still stands today. Originally timbered, it was later plastered over. The Curfman coat of arms that he was issued for his role as Schultheiss was carved on the courtyard gate wall and the lintel over the house door, bear the date 1727, marking the year Johann Daniel succeeded his father as Schultheiss and the likely year of the house's construction.

Johann Daniel 's wife, Susanna Reiss, was born in 1683 to Hans Conrad and Anna Apollonia Reiss. She passed away in 1743 at the age of 60. Over the course of 15 years, Johann Daniel and his wife Susanna Reiss had eight children, two of whom emigrated to Pennsylvania passengers on the Friendship in 1741 and the Prince of Wales in 1764. Susanna and Johann Daniel's descendants include emigrants Daniel, Conrad and the family of their deceased son, Johann Philipp. Johann Philipp's widow accompanied Conrad to America, marking the beginning of a new chapter for part of the Korffmann/Curfman family.
